Takeaways from Friday night's dual meet

No. 1 Penn State defeated No. 4 Iowa 32-3 to commence their first Big Ten road trip of the season on Friday night in Iowa City.

Penn State won nine of the ten matches, including two big upsets from 184-pounder Rocco Welsh, who defeated top-ranked Angelo Ferrari, and Penn State’s heavyweight Cole Mirasola, defeating No. 5 Ben Kueter. 

Here are some key takeaways from the match between Penn State and Iowa:

1. True Freshmen Phenoms Continue to Shine

Marcus Blaze had a big test at 133 pounds, going up against two-time NCAA runner-up Drake Ayala. Blaze scored the only takedown of the match and showed off his incredible athleticism and defense, winning 4-2 against the experienced Ayala.
