Wrestling heads from University Park to College Park to face the Terps

Your primer for back-to-back nights of Penn State wrestling

By Massimo Buonagurio

The Penn State Nittany Lions dominated their first dual of the weekend against the Indiana Hoosiers, getting their sixth shutout of the season with a 48-0 victory.

With the inclement weather, Penn State’s dual against Maryland was moved from Sunday, January 25 to Saturday, January 24. The Nittany Lions faced off against the Terrapins last season in Rec Hall with the Blue and White winning 35-10.

Here are some key points for Penn State’s match against Maryland:

1. No Rematches

There will be no rematches from last year's dual between the Nittany Lions and the Terrapins. The only returning Terrapins for Maryland are Braxton Brown, Dario Lemus and Branson John.

Due to injury, one of Maryland’s best and returning wrestlers Jaxon Smith is medically redshirting the rest of the season. The entire dual will be full of new matchups that we have never seen before with new wrestlers on both sides.
