Penn State football interim head coach Terry M. Smith addressed the media on Tuesday evening during the team’s second bye week following a 25-24 loss to Iowa in his head coaching debut on the road Saturday. 

1. Offense Was Not Available During Media Look

Smith told reporters that the offense had an “install period” during today’s media look, which means they could be learning new plays or schemes. Smith said he “wanted to make sure” the players learned it during practice. 247Sports reporter Tyler Donohue mentioned that it was the first time he saw the offense not present during that time in his nine years of covering the team during his question to Smith.
