Men’s Basketball Suffers Fourth Consecutive Loss in 71-60 Defeat to UCLA
Penn State men's basketball took on UCLA in the BJC on Wednesday night, losing 71-60.
The Nittany Lions (9-8) hosted the UCLA Bruins (12-5) at home on a chilly Wednesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. Coming off two hard-fought bouts vs top-ten ranked teams in the country (#2 Michigan and #5 Purdue), Penn State looked poised to get back on track with some home-court momentum. However, even after the 2000-mile trip, UCLA was too much to handle for the Lions, extending their losing streak to four games. Without freshman phenom Kayden Mingo, Penn State has struggled to generate consistent offense, resulting in extended scoring droughts and difficult shot selections. Rebounding must also become a greater point of emphasis heading into College Park on Sunday, as UCLA’s success on the glass stalled any moment the Lions had. Penn State will look to halt the skid on Sunday as they face Maryland (7-10) on the road.
