James Franklin Tuesday Night Media Notebook
News and Notes from Tuesday's Media Availability
Penn State football head coach James Franklin addressed the media on Tuesday afternoon during the first bye week of the season. Most notably, Franklin discussed the bye week and staying consistent.
1. Franklin Maps Out Bye Week Schedule
A bye week is the best week for Franklin and the coaching staff to hit the recruiting trail. Franklin will plan on the team watching film Tuesday and doing a few recruiting calls. Wednesday will be a normal team practice, followed up by Franklin leaving that night and being out all of Thursday for recruiting purposes. For the team, Thursday’s practice will be led by the coordinators, which is how they’ve had it “in the past,” according to the head coach. Friday looks to be a day where all of the coaches will be out on the recruiting trail. The coaches plan to get back to Happy Valley on Saturday night. “So, obviously, Sunday we’ll be a little bit ahead as we won’t have the last game for us to grade,” Franklin said regarding film review for Oregon.
